I have DI (aka. water diabetes). I was diagnosed with it in 2008 because my pituitary gland was messed up because of a brain tumor. I have to see an endocrinologist now. You definitely have the symptoms. You will have to give a urine specimen (pee in a cup). If your urine is very diluted, you probably have DI. The medicine I have to take for this is desmopressin. I am not going to lie to you...It is expensive. It costs me $130 for 45 pills (which covers me for 1 month). You might not have to take that much, your endocrine doctor will find the proper doses you have to take. Since you are going to an endocrinologist, he is a specialist, this will cost more then your regular Dr. I would suggest going to your regular Dr. and get your lab work done, and if you have DI, he can refer you to the endocrinologist. When I first got it, I was drinking so much, I was throwing up...and all I was throwing up was water. Be careful...you can get sick from drinking to much. You have to also be careful because if you don't get your water, you can get dehydrated. This is because the water your drinking just goes right through you and your body doesn't absorb much of it. I am jumping too far ahead...you might not have it. Go to your doc and get your lab work done. GOOD-LUCK
References :
You'll first probably need to see (or call) your regular doctor for a referral to an endocrinologist who will be able to diagnose you with DI and treat your specific type of DI. The most common cause of DI is caused by a deficiency in vasopressin- you will need to supplement with this the rest of your life. Your doctor may do a fluid deprivation test, along with other tests, to determine the cause and possible treatments of your DI.

There are no "natural remedies" for DI, although the vasopressin your doctor will prescribe does naturally belong in your body. Delaying treatment any longer would be in short stupid: drinking a lot of water isn't just annoying, it's dangerous. You're risking potassium depletion which can be fatal.

You're better in a little debt and alive and healthy than the alternative. See a doc.
References :
Go to an endocrinologist

Test? Tell the doctor your money is tight. Hopefully he'll only give you necessary tests. Blood tests might be enough. The doc takes an educated guess at what your problem is and treats you for what it might be. If you get better, he or she was right and no further expensive tests will be needed.
