AS A TYPE ONE DIABETIC MYSELF I AM AWARE THAT IT IS NOT CAUSED BY BEING LAZY & GREEDY – HOWEVER TYPE 2 IN MOST CASES IS – I AM AWARE THAT YOU ARE NOT A TYPE 2 in type 2 you can completely come off medication and manage your diabetes by DIET & EXERCISE which is what I have been saying here all along – I just think that to come on here and go ooohhhh woe is me I have an illness that is worse than cancer is a pile of s*it – yes it is hard but…. -

my grandad was type 2 my uncle and two other people in family are type 2’s also. as for sports well i played sports rode mountain bikes instead of getting buses eat my carrots peas salads watched my weight. one day kneeled over in pain in my kidney were i was told in hospitial iwas t1 diabeties, so even my professional says you got it stress or family onset genes? t1 u have no control when u get itdown the slightest trigger puts it back up sostop saying eat less and if you like jesus dont judge -

it is at least some cancers can be cured? hops os more availabile for cancer suffering people. and im sory for some of my comments im stil in shock im cming to terms witht he fact my life is shortened by the illness and then people stick their views saying it bad diet when im a veganand top it all have trained and served withforces inuk to be told i got type one diabeties andhave to inject novarapid and insulltart,least with tyoe 2 all u got to worryaboutisheart attacks. so dont judge diabetics -

EAT LESS MOVE MORE Jesus. Also-I’m sorry but having Type 1 Diabetes is not worse than having Cancer. At least with Type 1 you have a relative amount of control on your disease. Yeah it sucks but hey Life sucks from time to time, buck up mate-I would have thought that as ex military you would know there are a of a lot worse things out there. Oh and also Type 1 does not have to be genetic. Reading on the prevention and treatment of type 2 (ie fat, lazy diabetes) -

…. As such Type 2 diabetes is not only preventable but can be treated with DIET AND EXERCISE. What really es me off about this is that these people have been advised FOR YEARS to get healthy to avoid it and yet all this money is being ploughed into rezsearch and cures for them – THEM – I did nothing to deserve my disease, I was healthy and loved sports – noone told me I was in danger of getting a life threatning illness – and then they complain about it!!! The solution is simple… -

Walkdru – Diabetes Melitus is the generic name given to Type 1, Type 2 and Gestational Diabetes. If you are telling me that you are type 1 then please go back to my original comment and re – read it. Type one diabetes is not preventable and it is not curable. As a type 1 I know this. Type 2 however, in the vast majority of cases, is related to lifestyle factors such i.e. being sedintary, overweight and consuming large amount of sugar – cont….. -

mess the cat i was x forces and they reckon mine is diabeties meltissis which scientist reckon is linked in geanes of family having it like exmere or skin dosordered so in therory i got diabaties form my grandparents and all the exercise and lifestyle babble you said about diet and exercise.People are born like cancer with diabeties and no matter how much you excerise wont do anyfing so bear that in mind thank uaint no one know about diabeties till u have it like me. its worse then cancer.

Low way to control type is balanced not protien is need for body growth and counting calories and less trans fat(which protien foods have) saturated fat and polyunsaturated in t1 or t2 u should aviod.also rapeseed oils AND STUUF LIKE eat smaill amounts and plenty of omega 3 for the eyes eat fish once a week. It is all abouyt control of carbs and balanced. Trust me im a type 1 on anologe novarapid and insultard no complecations so far. one lst noteeat lots of veg and fruit dialy. wholegrainbread -

Hmm, I am willing to try this — I can believe that it will reduce the need for insulin, but Type 1 dibatics no longer produce insulin and a diet will not cure that. If they have been “cured” they are Type 2’s, whose bodies make insulin but do not use it properly or they do not produce enough. That is a serious difference. I don’t believe any of the cured people were actually Type 1 diabetics. -

For Type 2 I must agree, you may just better your health, but you wont be aible to quit insulin totally. -
