Love Diabetes: Move over Lantus – new sheriff in town!3

Straight from the horses’ mouth, researchers have been humbled with the reality that insulin is not the ONLY glucose lowering agent to treat type 1 diabetes. Articles like this one make me smile inside because it confirms that there is more than one way to skin a cat. More scientifically explained – leptin, a hormone produced by the body’s fat cells, also lowers blood glucose levels and maintains them in a normal range for extended periods. Type 1 Diabetes–Sydney’s Story3

Sydney was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes, or Juvenile Diabetes, at the age of 4. She is now 5 and is an advocate for her disease. She walks with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation each year, helping and hoping for a cure. Type 1 diabetes is often confused with Type 2 but they are very different. Type 1 can be triggered by any virus that tells the body’s immune system to destroy the insulin producing cells in the body. Once this happens, they can’t be repaired. There is no cure for Type 1 diabetes. The consequences of living with this disease can be very dangerous. A few examples are amputations, blindness, kidney disease, heart disease, coma, seizures, early death. It is our hope to educate more people about this disease so we can find a cure for Sydney and all the other kids living with this disease.

Is there a cure out for Diabetes (Type 2)?5

I heard from a friend but I’m not certain if there is a cure.

Some doctors have had success with diabetes patients by getting them to exercise and helping them understand how food affects them. These doctors believe diabetes is caused by nutritional deficiencies. Some patients are able to completely come off of their medications as a result.

I have found a website that helps explain the food and other areas to help you make the best choices for a better life.

Good luck to you.

What kind of experimental research is going on for the cure of diabetes type 1 (juvenile onset)?4

and what have the results been?
????ยง. ?????? – Nothing is wrong with my hair, you’re just a simple-minded b*tch
Narvegiy… – That link just took me to a Mexican pharmacy. It is not what I am looking for.
Atheist Bean – That is amazing.

All across the US and in Canada the National Institute of Health is working on transplanting Islet Cells, the cells that make insulin in the human body.
I was involved in one of the clinical trials in Philadelphia. They were having great success in Philly. The doctors have already cured 3 people of type 1 diabetes. There are still many problems with islet transplantion that the doctors across the country are trying to solve by doing these clinical trials. The goal is to make type 1 diabetes a thing of the past.
By the way, anyone interested in getting involved, like I was, google ‘islet transplant clinical trials’. They are still looking for people to cure. I unfortunately couldn’t go through with the transplant because of antigens from being pregnant.

Tried and true natural And diet remedies for yeast infection? Need your help please.?5

There is so much wishy washy information out there that it’s time consuming and difficult to sift through everything.
I already know about eating yogurt & taking garlic supplements (not sure how much and how often). I am also taking a 3 day OTC antifungal (can this damage my bod) & feeling some relief already. I don’t want to take diflucan. I decided not to take the oral herbal cure the grocery store had because it contained yeast in it, & that’s what I’m trying to fight against! LOL =O
How much fruit is safe to eat with my plain yogurt and kefir? How much sugar is okay in products like milk or adding Splenda to coffee (which I read that aspartame is also feeding the yeast)? What about fasting?
I read somewhere it has to do with the pH balance but not to drink sodas because of sugar?
I do not have diabetes but "sugar" & diabetes has been known to run on both sides of the family.
Is there anything else I need to know about natural remedies that I have not asked on here?

Hi there, Dear!

Well, there are a couple of things that you can do to remedy the situation. I have found that you can purchase L-lysine capsules over the counter at your local drug store. You can insert it in the vagina each evening before going to bed. This alkalinizes the area and will give you immediate relief.

Diet should have no sugar in it whatsoever. If you think about making bread, yeast FEEDS on sugar and that is what makes the bread rise, so sugar is a no-no. Eating short-grain brown rice at least once a day will help to balance your body. You can also take L-lysine orally for a week to balance the PH in your body and eradicate any yeastie-beasties that are still attacking the sugar in your system. Unfortunately, most of the people that suffer from yeast infections, also have a high rate of type II diabetes when they get older. That isn’t to say that you can’t nip it in the bud right now. The Macrobiotic Diet, by Michio Kushi is an excellent way to combat diabetes and the damage that is created. Unfortunately for me, I didn’t know about it when I first developed the disease in my late 20’s. Check out his website, that I included below in the "source" area. It has several testimonials and various informative blogs about all sorts of different diseases and their cures utilizing a natural, healthy lifestyle and the consequent diet.

I hope this helps. An apple cider vinegar douche is said to help for the same reason, though I never tried it for an infection. The above remedy I used frequently. I’m a diabetic and sugar is really my enemy. It was also my favorite food, so needless to say, I had a lot of yeast infections when I was younger. Good luck and feel better soon. I know how awful these infections can be.

How to cure diabetes in a young mother?15

A young mother of 24 yrs is having diabetes and she has to take insulin daily. What is the best ayurvedic, dietary or natural remedy for her? As she has to care for her baby all through the day, she is unable to do any exercise.

Diabetes canNOT be cured. it can only be CONTROLLED.

Since she is taking insulin, we are not clear if she is a Type 1 or Type 2 Diabetic. Treatment will be based on what type of diabetic she is.

Type 1 Diabetes is characterized by a complete failure of the pancreas. This most often happens in children uner the age of 18, but it is not uncommon for young adults as old as 30 to get it. Type 2 Diabetes can also turn into Type1, after many years of poor treatment.

Type 2 Diabetes is caused by being overweight. This is most common in adults over 40, but with society’s ways of eating wrong foods and failing to get exercise, Type 2 Diabetes is now showing up in children as young as 9 years old!

And Type 2 Diabetes is VERY common if the mother had Gestational Diabetes while pregnant. In fact, a woman who has Gestational Diabetes is more than twice as likely to develop Type 2 Diabetes later in life.

There is only ONE treatment for Type 1 Diabetes — insulin shots. Since the body produces NO insulin, the shots are necessary, or she will die. The ONLY alternative is a risky, painful, and expensive pancreas transplant.

Type 2 diabetes can often be controlled through diet and exercise.

The Type 2 Diabetes MUST COMPLETELY ELIMINATE sugar from their diet. They can have NO sugar. That means no colas, sports drinks, energy drinks, canned fruit juices, candies, cakes, ice cream, pudding, doughnuts, cookies — ANYTHING with sugar MUST be ELIMINATED from the diet.

The patient MUST reduce the amounts of starches they eat. Eat fewer breads, crackers, pastas, rice, corn, and potatoes. It really help to get a Diabetic Cookbook, and learn what foods are starchy and what food are healthy.

And the patient MUST get more exercise. "She has to care for her baby" is just an excuse. if she does not get more exercise she is going to be hospitalized, limtied to a wheelchair or nursing home, or die — any of the three will leave her baby with NO care, and dying will leave the baby without a mother.

You could do her a great service by getting off the internet and volunteering to take care of the baby while she exercises!

THERE IS NO CURE FOR DIABETES. IF she can develop the self-discipline to change her eating habits and lifestyle, then the diabetes can be CONTROLLED, and she will live as long and as happy as a healthy perseon.

But for the rest of her life, the diabetes will still be inside her, just waiting for her to change her diet or forget to exercise. then, the diabetes will come back, and usually stronger and more viscious than before. the results can be heart attacks, strokes, blindness, amputation, kidney failure and dialysis — even death!
